IUCAB Delegates Meeting 2025 in Tallinn – Strengthening Global Trade and Future Strategies

On May 30th, 2025, Tallinn, Estonia, welcomed delegates from various Member Associations around the world for the 72nd Annual Delegates’ Meeting. The event brought together members, secretaries and working group representatives to address key developments, discuss strategic initiatives, and reinforce IUCAB’s mission in a rapidly changing global trade environment. Many thanks to the Finnish member association FFTAF, which has perfectly organised the annual conference.

The meeting was opened by IUCAB President Mr. Olivier Mazoyer, followed by a welcoming speech from Ms. Eeva Pakkanen, President of the Finnish Member Association. An early highlight of the day was the keynote address by Mr. Marko Udras from the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His presentation, focusing on the Estonian economy and its role in global trade, provided delegates with valuable insights into the region’s economic growth and international integration.

Secretary General Mr. Christian Rebernig presented the annual report with insights into the organisation’s activities, achievements and exchanges to strengthen the international network. IUCAB will continue with the social media activities and is still increasing the number of followers on LinkedIn. Additionally, the meeting covered the ongoing SEO efforts aimed at increasing IUCAB’s visibility and digital footprint.

Training and qualification remain a top priority for IUCAB. The majority of the National or Regional Member Associations fullfill the requirements according to IUCAB Training Standards and received their training confirmation at the meeting. Therefore, they are allowed to use the IUCAB Training Label.

Delegates reaffirmed the importance of high-quality training to ensure the competitiveness of commercial agents worldwide. Also, the LUCA Project (Leveling up Commercial Agents Competencies), continues to gain momentum. The two-year-project started in 2023 and is co-funded by the European Union. Mr. Rebernig showcased the e-learning platform which is currently in the pilote testing phase to see if the content corresponds with the needs of the branche. He also informed about the next steps, like the dissemination event in Italy and plans for a possible certification.

Delegates elected a new Vice-President following the end of Mr. Charles Cohon’s term. IUCAB thanked him for his great commitment and all his efforts for the association and its members. Mr. Nicolas Philippou has applied for the office of Vice-President and was unanimously approved at the meeting.

IUCAB is expanding its network in South America. The efforts of our Peruvian member association CAMEX to develop and strengthen the agents network in this region is very much appreciated.

The International Agent of the Year 2025 is Mr. Andreas Burbach, owner of Kleiderschrank Gmbh and member of WKO Sales Agents, Austria. He was selected by the Executive Committee. The agency has 4 employees, represents 7 international principals and is working in the fashion area. The Trophy was handed over to Mr. Burbach during the gala dinner in the evening.

The 2025 Delegates’ Meeting highlighted IUCAB’s commitment to strategic growth, digital transformation, and professional excellence. With initiatives like the LUCA Project, expanded global partnerships, and enhanced communication strategies, IUCAB continues to underline its role as a vital force in international commerce.

Next year the Annual Meeting will take place from 14th to 16th May 2026 in France hosted by the IUCAB Member Association APAC.
