Driving Innovation: Key Insights from the Executive Committee Meeting in Vienna
On 4th April 2025, the Executive Committee convened in Vienna for a productive meeting at the IUCAB headquarters. President Mr. Olivier Mazoyer welcomed Vice Presidents Ms. Eeva Pakkanen (FIN), Mr. Marco Righetti (ITA), Mr. Ralf Scholz (GER), Mr. Axel Sturmberger (AUT) and Mr. Christian Rebernig, IUCAB Secretary General, to the meeting. Mr. Matthew Tickle (UK & Ireland) and, for the first time, Mr. Nicolas Philippou (CYP) participated as observer.
Key Topics and Discussions
A major highlight was the European Erasmus+ Project, LUCA – Leveling Up Commercial Agents Competencies. Professor Christian Stadlmann from the University of Applied Sciences of Upper Austria provided insights into the status quo, including progress on the e-learning platform and the start of the pilot testing. Discussions also covered the certification plan, ensuring that commercial agents receive recognised qualifications aligned with industry needs. The two-year-project started in 2023 and is co-funded by the European Union.
Enhancing Communication and Digital Presence
The Secretariat provided updates on social media engagement, SEO efforts and whitepaper publications. Strategies to optmise the presence of the IUCAB website and the B2B platforms were also explored to maximise visibility.
Expanding Membership and Honouring Excellence
The meeting also addressed potential new member associations, with a particular focus on networks in South America, and manufacturer associations.
Furthermore, nominations for the prestigious George Hayward Award 2025 were evaluated. The winner will be announced at the upcoming Delegates Meeting scheduled on 30th May 2025, in Tallinn, Estonia.
A Successful and Forward-Looking Meeting
The Vienna meeting marked another milestone in IUCAB’s commitment to advancing the interests of commercial agents worldwide. With a strong focus on training, communication strategies, and membership expansion, the Executive Committee laid a solid foundation for the organisation’s continued growth and success.
We look forward to the upcoming Delegates Meeting in Tallinn and the continued progress of IUCAB’s initiatives throughout the year.
