Summary of London Executive Committee meeting
The Executive Committee of IUCAB and Observers met in London on 24th September 2010 at the offices of the law firm ReedSmith in Broadgate Tower. The meeting was hosted by the UK Member Association MAA.
A brief summary of the main topics discussed:
Next year’s IUCAB International Congress to be held in Marrakech on 2nd and 3rd June 2011. The event will take place at the Palmeraie Golf Palace Hotel (www.palmeraiemarrakech.com) where National IUCAB Member Associations can also have a national meeting prior to the Congress. On Thursday 2nd June 2011, the Executive Committee, the Delegates and National Secretaries will have a full day meeting which is to be combined with an International Exhibition of commercial agents and manufacturers. Participants are also given the opportunity to consult members of the IUCAB Legal Working Group for legal matters. The International Congress of commercial agents is scheduled for Friday 3rd June 2011 where key-note speakers from all over the world will be giving presentations. The International Congress will also be the place of venue for the presentation of the George Hayward Award 2011. A very attractive programme for spouses/partners is also provided for.
Detailed information regarding the programme and registration will be publicised and communicated soon to the IUCAB Member Associations and Trade and Manufacturers’ organisations.
Action Plan for the Latin American countries. Establishing contacts with the appropriate associations in those countries as well as with relevant organisations in the Far East and Turkey now have full priority of IUCAB Executive Committee.
International Database: nine (9) IUCAB Member Associations have now signed the required contracts for participation in the International Database. The launching of this unique and global Database will therefore be started up soon. This IUCAB Database will be an invaluable resource to help manufacturers find commercial agents and commercial agents find manufacturers. Detailed selection options will enable visitors to find future business partners meeting their individual search criteria.
New IUCAB Website: development is reaching its final stages and the site is expected to be launched before the end of this year. The fully modernised and adapted new website will be accessible in five world languages so as to accommodate visitors from all over the world.
The IUCAB Handbook for organizers of delegates’ meetings was revised and updated.
Membership relations, relations with EuroCommerce and IUCAB Vision related items were discussed in detail and appropriate decisions were taken.
The next meeting of the Executive Committee has been scheduled for 18th March 2011 in Germany.
